my hot take advice for cultivating your prime fandom experience if you’re in your mid-late-20′s-and-over is that you absolutely should surround yourself with people who are primarily in your age group and older, not because of some fandom moral purity age-limit bullshit, but to preserve your own sanity. can you imagine being greeted by a wall of text from an angry zoomer because you had the audacity to say “i enjoy this show, but i don’t put that much emotional investment into its deeper themes and meanings”? you don’t have the time or the braincells for that, come on. enjoy your ships and your subtext with people who have the maturity to accept that what one person goes feral over is another person’s shrug emoji.
